An annual fundraiser is back, supporting those in need in the community.

The RONA Foundation’s Home Sweet Home campaign will support nearly 150 Canadian non-profits, including four in Southwest Ontario, that help victims of domestic violence and their children, low-income families, and people with disabilities or mental health issues.

“Our in-store and distribution centre teams are inspired by this timely cause, and they’re motivated because each team chooses the local organization it wants to support. Some non-profits sometimes find it harder to raise donations because they don’t have the infrastructure of a big national organization behind them. That, we’ve got,” says Catherine Laporte, Chair of the RONA Foundation Board of Directors and Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Customer Experience at RONA.

Throughout the month of September, donations made at RONA stores in Chatham and Wallaceburg will benefit the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre. RONA Leamington is raising funds for the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Sarnia’s RONA+ store is supporting Habitat for Humanity Sarnia/Lambton, and RONA+ Windsor East is raising money for Charity House and Brentwood Recovery Home.

The Women’s Centre was the charity of choice for the Wallaceburg and Chatham stores last year as well, bringing in over $1700.

Customers in the region will be invited to make a donation to support a local cause by visiting a participating store. Online shoppers will also have the chance to participate by making a donation when shopping on rona.ca.
