Rood Named Deputy Ag Critic

Lianne Rood has been the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MP for only a few months, but she has quickly settled into the job.

Rood, who grew up on a vegetable farm in northern Lambton County, was named her party’s deputy critic for agriculture and agri-food.

“It’s great being back in Ottawa, obviously in a different capacity, but it’s been a good time to get to know my colleagues and get to know what the responsibility and roles are, and the lay of the land a bit more,” Rood says.

Rood will work in the role alongside John Barlow, the agriculture and agri-food critic in the Conservative Party’s “shadow cabinet” in Ottawa.

She has worked in Ottawa previously in various political staffer roles.
