A section of road along the Lake Erie shoreline, closed due to erosion issues for almost four years, will not be reopening.
Rose Beach Line was shut down between Antrim Road and New Scotland Line following a slope and bank failure caused by erosion along the Lake Erie shoreline.
Municipal officials say with a new private laneway connecting four properties north of Rose Beach, the affected section of road will be permanently closed.
The private laneway was recommended in a report to council in June, 2021, with the cost of repairing Rose Beach Line estimated at $7.8 million.
