The Rotary Club of Chatham is opening up the purse strings with a $20,000 donation to the Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Centre Butterfly Building Campaign.

Concept design for the new Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent.

Jennifer Hill is the president of the Rotary Club and says helping children is foundational to what the club represents.

“Because it’s children who need it,” Hill says. “They need to expand this facility, we’ve been involved with it for many years so it’s just a natural thing for us.”

The proceeds were raised through the Rotary Club’s volunteer work at Riverview Bingo.

The treatment centre expects to serve nearly 4500 clients this year, or one in every five children in Chatham-Kent.
