A new accessible playground for local children with physical and developmental needs has now been fully funded.

The Rotary Club of Chatham has delivered its final $80,000 installment toward a total donation of $250,000 for a new playground at the future location of the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC).

The new playground is designed to reflect CTC’s dedication to inclusivity and care at the new 55,000-square-foot facility on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent currently provides services to more than 3,700 children and youth with special needs. The centre’s new building is expected to provide additional space to reduce wait times for rehabilitation services such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and autism services.
