Rulmeca Canada in Wallaceburg is unveiling its huge expansion.
According to Chatham-Kent’s Economic Development department, the expansion represents a $5.5-million dollar investment into the Wallaceburg area.
“The expansion itself is 22,000 square feet. it’s taken us about a year or two for us to get it to this point. It’s part of our strategic growth plan to better service our customers and grow our business in North America,” says CEO Mark Long.
Long says the expansion has allowed the creation of 21 new positions over the next few years, and the retention of 73 existing jobs.
“We’re really excited for the community and we’re really excited for the employees and staff who work at Rulmeca because Rulmeca Canada has been deemed in the global group of companies as the largest and best opportunity to grow the business in the world, so we’re pretty thrilled,” says Long.
Company staff and officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this afternoon to commemorate Rulmeca’s growth.
