Local residents will be lacing up their running shoes for a good cause this weekend.
Sunday, October 4 marks the annual CIBC Run for the Cure in support of Canadians impacted by breast cancer.
Registration begins at 9:30 at John McGregor Secondary School on Cecile Avenue in Chatham, followed by opening ceremonies at 10, and both a 1km and 5km run or walk getting underway at 10:30.
Proceeds help fund various support programs offered by the Canadian Cancer Society, including transportation for patients to get to their breast cancer treatments; peer support programs; wigs, headware, and breast prostheses; and funding breast cancer research in Canada.
