Running To Cure Cancer

The 44th annual Terry Fox Run is set to take place on Sunday with participants welcome to walk, run, bike, or wheel to help raise money for life-saving cancer research.

Moira Eggett and her husband Brad are organizing the Wallaceburg event. She says the event is open to everyone, whether they are running or not.

“Just come on out, even if you’re not participating, come out to support all those who are,” Eggett says. “That’s what it’s all about, keeping Terry in our minds constantly.”

Moira says this year’s run became personal for their family.

“As we have always done this for others because we’ve had cancer hit our family and friends, and this year Brad was diagnosed with Leukemia. So it’s a very unique year for us.”

Along with the Wallaceburg event, in-person runs are being held in Dresden, Blenheim, and Tilbury. Chatham and Ridgetown are both holding virtual events with donations being accepted online.
