A local running club for kids continues to grow.
Mark Childs with the Defiance Running Club says the Youth Program saw students from 19 schools across the region run 83,000 kilometres this year.
“It wrapped up the end of May and it was by far our best program ever,” says Childs, adding the money goes towards local education. “For books for 19 schools that are in program in Lambton and Chatham-Kent.”
Students earn 15 cents for their school for each kilometre they run, meaning over $12,000 was handed out this year.
