The Salvation Army is getting ready for a staff roll-over.
Captain Stephanie Watkinson is moving on to the Barrie area, after nearly a decade in Chatham-Kent.
Watkinson says she’s seen a lot of great strides take place in Chatham-Kent in her time.
“We’ve moved beyond trying to do band-aid solutions and trying to look to real solutions to key issues of poverty, housing issues, food issues, mental health,” says Watkinson. “We are addressing those as a community and we’re coming together as a community and I think that’s an amazing task that this community has done.”
Watkinson says the Salvation Army usually moves its officers around every five years.
