It’s been a record-setting year for the Chatham-Kent Salvation Army.
The agency, which supports residents in need across the municipality, had hoped to raise $500,000 this year.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, a smaller number of volunteers and red kettle locations, the local organization raised $551,000 through its Christmas campaign.
That beats out last year’s fundraising total by close to $65,000.
All proceeds help to support the Salvation Army’s programs and services throughout the year.
