Children and their families will have a number of chances to see Santa Claus in Chatham-Kent over the next few weeks.

The big man in red will be making his first official appearance this evening with a parade in Chatham, starting on Sandys Street at 6:30 and making its way through downtown to the Wish Centre. Donations of canned goods and new toys will be collected along the route.

Tomorrow, the jolly old elf will be in Wallaceburg. The Knights of Pythias parade gets underway on Arnold Street at 2 o’clock and heading down Dufferin Avenue and through downtown, ending at Our Lady of Help Church. Canada Post will collect letters for Santa along the parade route, and the fire department will be accepting donations of canned goods for the Salvation Army food bank.

Other parades are being held over the next month in Tilbury, Blenheim, Wheatley, Dresden, Ridgetown, and Thamesville.
