Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Santa Claus will be making a special visit to Wallaceburg this weekend.

A drive-by procession will make its way across town Saturday morning, and organizer Michael Salisbury says they’re hitting up as many neighbourhoods as possible.

“We’re going to do what we’re calling the Wallaceburg 2020 Santa Claus Drive-by,” Salisbury says. “We’re going around most of the back roads in town here, it’s about 50 kilometres of road we’re going to be travelling on this weekend, and hopefully kids can get a glimpse of Santa.”

Volunteers will be picking up donations of non-perishable food and toys along the way to support those in need heading into the holidays.

“Now more than ever, the St Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army food banks are getting pretty bare,” Salisbury says.

Residents are asked to leave any donations on the curb to be picked up as the procession goes by.

The cruise begins at noon at the corner of Old Glass Road and Base Line at noon and will finish up at the Oaks Retirement Village around 5pm.
