He’s making his list, checking it twice, and this weekend, Santa Claus is coming to town.
The holiday season kicks off tonight with a Santa Claus parade in downtown Chatham. With Merlin-native and Canadian Country Music Hall of Famer Michelle Wright as its grand marshal, the procession begins at 6:30 on Sandys Street, heading down Lacroix and across King Street. The festivities continue at the Wish Centre with hot chocolate, pizza, and pictures with Santa.
Volunteers with the Southern Cruisers Riding Club will be collecting toys and non-perishable goods along the parade route on behalf of the Chatham Goodfellows. FreeHelpCK will also be collecting monetary donations for their playhouse contest.
The old man in red will be making a stop in Wallaceburg this weekend as well. The 55th annual Knights of Pythias Christmas Parade begins at 6pm on Saturday with floats and musical bands making their way from Arnold Street, along Dufferin Avenue, James Street, Nelson Street, and Elgin Street.
