Another warning from local authorities to be on guard for scammers.
Chatham-Kent Police responded to a fraud complaint reported by a local bank this week.
A Chatham woman was bilked out of more than $38,000 by someone claiming to work for Microsoft. According to police, the accused told the woman that while fixing her computer, he accidentally deposited money into her bank account, and repeatedly came back to collect cash payments.
The suspect is described as being in his mid-to-late 20s with a dark complexion, black wavy hair, and standing about six feet tall.
