Scammers Looking To Take Advantage Of Vaccine Program

As always seems the case when something good comes along to help people, there are the scammers trying to take advantage.

CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshal says beware of phony telephone calls.

“We were asked to identify, by the public health call centre, that they have been receiving calls of concern that apparently there is someone out there who is doing robo-calls to individuals to indicate they can book their appointments for vaccination, and are asking through the calls for personal information from individuals”.

Marshall wants to reiterate when it’s your turn you will be contacted by a live person, not a robo-call, and, do not give out personal information over the phone

Chatham-Kent Public Health has also issued a statement on the issue.

“CK Public Health would like to remind residents that we are not currently booking vaccination appointments for the general public and that we do not use automated messages while doing our work.”
