There is an opening for the top job at the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, as Deb Crawford announced today she is stepping down effective September 30th.
Crawford has been a catholic educator for 38 years starting her career in Dufferin-Peel in 1983.
She moved to the district in 2001 and served in various teaching and administrative posts until ascending to the top job in 2017.
“My decision to retire was not taken lightly, but I think the time is right,” says Mrs. Crawford. “I believe St. Clair Catholic is well positioned for the future and I look forward to devoting more time to my family and pursuing interests that I have not had time to enjoy fully.”
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to thank Deb for her inspired leadership through some of the Board’s most difficult days,” says John Van Heck, Chair of the Board. “Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Deb has kept St. Clair Catholic moving forward, completing major projects and focusing on student success and excellence in Catholic education. We are indebted to her and grateful for her service.
She thanked the teachers and support staff, administrators and board officials for all their hard work and support, and said being Director was the best job she ever had.
The Board of Trustees will begin the search for a replacement immediately.
