It will be a sloppy morning on roads across Chatham-Kent.

A freezing rain warning remains in effect with the temperature hovering around 0 Celsius into the early afternoon.

Environment Canada is calling for freezing rain to rain or snow by noon, then periods of rain or drizzle as the mercury rises.

The agency warns surfaces including highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may be slippery, and ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.

School buses for the Lambton-Kent, St Clair Catholic, and Providence French Catholic school boards have been cancelled for the day.

St Clair Catholic District School Board officials say Kinderstart events at St. Joseph in Corunna and St. Elizabeth in Wallaceburg are also cancelled.  A rescheduled date will be announced later.
