The public school board will decide the fate of some of its elementary schools tonight.

Superintendent Gary Girardi says trustees will vote on the future of John N Given Public School.

“The first recommendation is that the board approve the consolidation of the John N Given Public K-8 English language at Tecumseh Public School starting in Sept of 2018,” says Girardi. “Then the relocation of 7-8 French Immersion to McNaughton Ave Public in Sept 2017 and then approve the closure of John N. Given in Sept. 2018.”

If the board approves the proposed changes, a funding request will be sent to the Ministry of Education to help with the cost.
