A 24-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly robbing a Chatham motel office while wielding a pair of scissors.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a man went to the unidentified motel Monday afternoon and used a pair of scissors in a threatening manner to steal three laptops and a cell phone for the staff office.
Officers responded to the scene and arrested a suspect outside of the motel. The property was then returned to the rightful owners.
As a result, a 24-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He has been released pending a court date on February 22.
