Scooter Competition Approaching

A group of scooter enthusiasts are trying to raise awareness about their sport.

Janet Raddatz is a parent organizer of next weekend’s first ever local scooter competition.

She says the CK Scooter Festival is being held September 7th at the Chatham Skateboard Park.

“We’ve never had an event like this at the Chatham Skate park, and if you look at our skate park it really is one of the best in southern Ontario. So we’re excited to showcase it and let the kids have a great day and take part in a higher end competition that they’d normally have to go to London, Toronto or even Detroit to participate in.”

The competition is open to all ages and skill levels.

Registration begins at 10 that morning with the competition getting underway at 11:30.
