The driver of a motorized scooter is facing charges after allegedly trying to evade police.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers spotted the scooter on Jackson Drive at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and noticed that the driver was showing signs of impairment.
The driver allegedly failed to stop when directed by police.
The driver was later located at a nearby park and arrested. He was taken to police headquarters for tests.
A 25-year-old Chatham man is now charged with impaired driving and failing to stop for police. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
