The spring temperatures continue to melt the snow and ice across the region elevating the water levels on both branches of the Sydenham River into the natural floodplain areas, farmland and parks.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority is extending the flood watch for the entire area.

Warmer temperatures and high winds over the next few days indicate even more melting snow creating the runoff.

Residents are reminded to avoid shorelines, watercourses and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water.

Children and pets should be kept away from the water.

This flood watch remains in effect until March 8th.
