As one door closes, another stays open a little longer in Chatham-Kent’s arts and culture sector.

This Sunday marks the end of the 50th season for the Ridge House Museum. Visitors can take part in a guided tour of the restored heritage home to see what middle-class life was like in 1875. Guests are also invited to walk the grounds and enjoy the Pollinator Patch, developed in partnership with the Ridgetown and District Horticultural Society, and see artifacts from the four families who settled the area now known as Ridgetown.

Meantime in Chatham, The Thames Art Gallery and Chatham-Kent Museum will be expanding their hours as of September 3rd. The two sites at the Chatham Cultural Centre will be open 10am to 4pm Wednesday through Sunday, and Saturdays 10am to 6pm. Officials say the change reflects a continued commitment to accessibility, community engagement, and providing enriching cultural experiences for all visitors.
