Today marks the start of the Back to Chatham-Kent Home for the Holidays celebration.
The Back to Chatham-Kent initiative was launched in 2013 as a way to encourage former residents to return to the community by sharing success stories of those who made the decision to move back to Chatham-Kent.
Mayor Randy Hope says the campaign highlights Chatham-Kent’s unique characteristics:
“It’s about knowing your neighbour, where in big cities you may not be able to. Home for the Holidays is a way to refresh memories because the holidays are all about remembering and creating memories. Hopefully [during this time] we can let them know about the job opportunities and other opportunities that exist here”, says Hope.
The campaign is tied with the holiday season when many former residents return to visit family and friends.
Several events are planned, including a Home for the Holidays Bad Art Night on Tuesday, December 21st at the Chatham Public Library, and a Young Professional Business After Hours on Wednesday, December 13th at Sons of Kent.
