Ontario will soon be offering more locations to access important government services at a major retail chain.
ServiceOntario will begin opening new centres in select Staples Canada stores beginning in 2024, providing Ontario residents more locations to renew their driver’s licence and health card, and access other services.
Additional locations are expected to open in Staples stores throughout the year.
“Our partnership with ServiceOntario will make it easier and more convenient for communities to access the government services they need,” said Staples Canada CEO David Boone in a news release.
The province said the partnership between Staples and the government will help to enhance the customer experience and provide convenient access to government and retail services in one location. The new partnership is also expected to reduce the overall cost of delivering government services to the public.
According to the Ontario government, ServiceOntario completes 59 million transactions each year. More than 24 million of those transactions are completed in person at the 275 ServiceOntario centres throughout the province.
