The Municipality is contributing the final installment needed to begin construction on the New Animal Shelter.
$820,000 from the Strategic Reserve will be going toward the 6,300-square foot facility – 1000 square feet smaller than originally planned.
The total cost of the animal shelter is just over $2.3 million – nearly half of which was funded through donations, including another half-million dollar contribution from council.
The construction contract for the shelter has been granted to Agri-Urban Building Inc of Dresden.
