The local animal shelter wants to lend a hand to some of the community’s most vulnerable and their pets.
Animal Control manager Jason Hamm says they’re offering free boarding for homeless dogs for the next few days.
We’re currently offering free boarding for anybody that struggles with homelessness that has dogs, we’re looking to hold them till Saturday or Sunday depending on the need, and at no cost. “We’re using our Chatham shelter, that’s open 10-5 and our Wallaceburg shelter that’s open 2-5 today.”
Hamm says dogs can be put up in either the Chatham or Wallaceburg facilities. To make arrangements, residents can contact the Chatham shelter.
