Local conservationists are keeping a close watch on the Lake Erie Shoreline in Chatham-Kent and Elgin County.
Overnight, officials were expecting wind gusts up to 70 kilometres an hour with waves close to a metre and a half in height.
Looking ahead to the next few days, the forecast is calling for wind gusts to reach 80 clicks and the potential for gale warnings.
