Two people are facing charges after shots were fired on Walpole Island First Nation.

Walpole Island Police and Lambton OPP were contacted about someone being shot at by two other individuals on Dump Road Tuesday afternoon just before 4 o’clock.

Officers on scene confirmed no one had been hurt, but empty firearm casings were found on the ground.

Authorities received a description of two suspects and found the accused a short time later.

A 40-year-old from Walpole Island and 27-year-old Chatham man were arrested, both charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent.

A search of the Walpole Island resident turned up suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, and that suspect is now also facing two counts of drug possession.

Both have been remanded into custody following a bail hearing.
