As councillors head into tonight’s virtual meeting, municipal officials are eyeing the possibility of creating some more outdoor recreation options for local residents.
Chatham-Kent councillor Anthony Ceccacci wants municipal administration to prepare a report to identify possible locations and funding for a temporary outdoor skating area on municipal property for next year.
In his motion, being brought forward tonight, the South Kent representative says many other municipalities have temporary outdoor ice surfaces that can be easily assembled in winter months in a cost effective manner.
Ceccacci is asking for a report to come back to council in June so the possibility could be explored in time for next winter.
