An upcoming outdoor music festival is promising to rock the quiet village of Shrewsbury this weekend.

The Shrewsbury Raglan Assembly is hosting the debut of Rock the Hood at 112 New Scotland Line on Saturday, July 5. The one-day, 19-plus event will feature nine high-energy bands across a variety of genres.

In addition to the live music, food will be available throughout the day from Smash Burger and Dog Days Barbeque.

The event will run from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. and round-trip bus transportation will be available from both Blenheim and Chatham.

Tickets for the event are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with all proceeds going back into the Shrewsbury community to support local initiatives, projects and future events.
