Charges have been laid following a crash east of Chatham over the weekend.
Shortly before 2 Saturday morning, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Centre Side Road.
Authorities say a pickup truck hit a hydro pole, causing extensive damage.
The driver, a 21-year-old, fled before officers arrived but was quickly tracked down. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with failing to remain at the scene of a crash and careless driving.
