A Chatham man is facing an impaired driving charge following a crash near Charing Cross.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Erieau Road and Middle Line at around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday.

No one was injured.

Believing the driver had been drinking, he was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 44-year-old Chatham man has been charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was held until sober and then released with a court date next week.
