A series of events are coming up over the next few weeks, helping to support women in need.
Kat and Karissa Strain, also known as the acting duo Sisters Strain, have launched Sisters 4 Sisters, a period product drive in partnership with the Indigenous-led organization Moon Time Connection to send menstrual products to communities in Canada’s north.
The sisters say not all communities have the same level of connection and support as Chatham-Kent, and access to essential products in remote areas is limited.
Donation boxes are being placed in businesses across the municipality, including the CKXS Studio at 520 James Street in Wallaceburg, to collect products including tampons, pads, and cups.
A number of events are taking place later this month, including Poetry and Periods; Makers 4 Menstruation, and Cycle 4 Cycles, each with admission by donation.
