SIU Appeals For Information On Former CK Cop Charged With Sexual Assault

The province’s police oversight agency is appealing to the public for information about an incident involving a former Chatham-Kent police officer accused of sexual assault.

Kenneth Miller was arrested on April 21 and charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and breach of trust in connection with an incident involving a minor that occurred in 2009.

The Special Investigations Unit announced on Monday that it is looking for more information about this incident and is asking anyone who may have been affected, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to contact the agency.

Miller resigned from the Chatham-Kent Police Service in 2018 in the wake of similar accusations in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

“The SIU recognizes that experiences of sexual violence can be deeply personal and difficult to speak about. There is no time limit to report sexual assault, and individuals may choose whether, how, and when they wish to share information. Coming forward is entirely voluntary,” the SIU said in the media release.

Those who have information about the investigation and are willing to come forward can contact the SIU confidentially at 1-800-787-8529 or online by clicking here.
