Ontario’s police watchdog has been called in to probe the death of an elderly Amherstburg man.
Just after 10 o’clock yesterday morning, Windsor Police officers responded to a domestic call at a Dalhousie Street apartment and say the tenant wouldn’t answer the door.
Officers obtained a warrant and found the 80-year-old with serious injuries. He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem is being held today.
The Special Investigations Unit has assigned three investigators and two forensic investigators to the case.
