The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a 53 year old Chatham man died while in Chatham-Kent Police custody.
On September 8th, police were called out to variety store on Charing Cross Road because of an unwanted man in the store.
They took a 53 year old man into custody, however he later was transported to hospital in distress.
The man passed away Wednesday evening at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
