All told $700,000 came to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent by way of the Slots at Dresden Raceway this year.

The annual figure was released earlier this week, and is down against last year.

The payment is made quarterly and goes into general revenues to cover the costs of a wide range of municipal services.

“This significant investment in our community represented 0.5% of the 2017 municipal budget,” said Mayor Randy Hope. “This is money that directly supports the delivery of services to citizens. A portion of this year’s funding was contributed towards the Shrewsbury Recreational Trail.”

Since 2001, Chatham-Kent has collected $10.2 million.
