A Brantford man is facing drug charges after a concerned citizen in Chatham allegedly spotted him smoking pot in a parked vehicle.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday after the man was seen with marijuana in a vehicle, which was parked on King Street West near Fifth Street.

Authorities responded and conducted a search of the vehicle under the Cannabis Act. As a result, police seized 19 grams of crystal meth, 30 grams of fentanyl, six grams of cocaine, 15 tablets of Adderall, 28 pills of hydromorphone, and 81 grams of cannabis.

As a result, a 28-year-old Brantford man was arrested and is now charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He has since been released from custody with a future court date.
