Careless smoking is being blamed for a Christmas Eve fire that claimed the life of a LaSalle man.
Flames broke out just before 5pm on Todd Lane and by the time crews arrived minutes later, they were faced with a fully involved fire and heavy smoke.
The man’s body was discovered by firefighters. Nobody else was in the home at the time.
