SNICKERDOODLES

1 C. soft shortening

1 ½ C. sugar

2 eggs

2 ¾ C. flour

2 tsp. cream of tartar

½ tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda

 

 

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs together. Sift together remaining ingredients. Blend the 2 mixtures. Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of a walnut. Then roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2” apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 350° 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies will puff up at first, then flatten with crinkled top.
