For the third year in a row, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is asking residents to come up with creative names for local snowplows.
The municipality has launched an annual online contest to name snowplows for each of the community’s six wards for the upcoming winter season.
“The snowplow naming contest is a wonderful example of how our community comes together. It is a great reminder that the fleet is not just cleaning snow, they’re fostering a sense of togetherness, creativity, and pride in our community,” says Edward Soldo, CK’s general manager of infrastructure and engineering.
Submissions will be accepted until November 19 before being narrowed down to a shortlist. A voting period will then take place the week of November 27 to decide on the winning names.
Last year’s winning entries were Betty Whiteout, Ctrl Salt Delete, Flurrie Jenkins, Harry Plower, Edward Blizzardhands, and Scoop Dogg.
Those interested in taking part in the contest can do so on the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website.
