Athletic excellence will be honoured in Wallaceburg the weekend.
The 44th annual Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame Awards Banquet is taking place Saturday evening. The dinner and awards ceremony, being held at the UAW Hall, is completely sold out.
Patti Blondia will be honoured as the Female Athlete of the Year, while Brian Glover takes home the Male Athlete honours. Grace Harvey is being inducted in the Builder category, Ed Freeburn is this year’s Coach/Official inductee, team honours go to the 1990 Wallaceburg Sting Men’s Soccer Team, and the 2026 Master Classic inductee is the 1978 Wallaceburg Satan Juvenile Lacrosse Team.
Several awards will be handed out as well, including outstanding achievement honours for Tori Horrobin and Legacie Blackbird. Lucas Laprise has been named the Ray Aarssen/Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame scholarship recipient.
Dresden-native and former NHLer TJ Brodie is the evening’s guest speaker.
