A number of Walpole Island police officers are back on the job today.

The department was shut down on December 28th after exposure to COVID-19.

The First Nation council says not all officers were affected, but everyone was tested in order to return work.

Those who needed to quarantine continue to do so until they’re cleared by Public Health.

In the meantime, the police building has been sanitized and additional equipment ordered, and the OPP will continue to provide whatever support and coverage is needed.
