The 2020 Spark awards were handed out last night.

Ontario Tourism Innovation Lab program lead Justin Lafontaine says the winners include Crazy 8 Barn, TJ Stables, and Forest Therapy.

“They emphasized and really conveyed their passion for the Chatham-Kent area and their passion for the ideas they put forward,” Lafontaine says. “It was quite inspiring, we had a mix of small businesses, individuals, non-profits, all putting forward these great ideas.”

Each winner receives a three month mentorship with a tourism innovator, a $3000 grant to support their development, and access to a support network with ongoing guidance and other resources to bring their tourism plans to life.

The Spark program is a partnership between the Ontario Tourism Innovation Lab, Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture, Southwestern Ontario Tourism Corporation (SWOTC), Libro Credit Union, VIA Rail and SOAR Innovation and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
