Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad is in the water at the Pan Am Games in PERU –  competing in the 200 metre backstroke event today. A Chatham Y Pool Shark product, Broad is ranked third heading into the games. We’re expecting an update this afternoon.

The Chatham Maroons continue preparing for the upcoming GOJHL campaign, making a slew of signings in recent days, including the additions of:

Local C-K product Adrian Stubberfield, D-man Ryan McKim of Windsor, former Sun County Panthers standout Aleksa Babic and just today, the M’s added blueliner Kaleb Tiessen

Meanwhile, the Blenheim Blades have named veteran forward Alex Cunningham as the team’s next captain. Cunningham was added late last season from Komoka. He is a Chatham-Kent Cyclones and Lambton Jr. Sting alumni.

You could Read with a Wrestler! Cody Deaner – who has been in these parts with Smash Wrestling a few times lately – is making two stops at the CK Library on Thursday, August 29th. He’ll be in Chatham at 11AM and Blenheim at 1:30. One of the best pro wrestlers in the country, Deaner is currently a regular on IMPACT Wrestling and the independent scene but he’s also a renowned motivational speaker. The event is FREE and best suited to those 8 to 12 years old, but really open to anyone. No registration required.
