Congratulations are in order for local fan favourites, The Down River Band.
A year after taking home second place honours, Valley Gilhuly, Connor Elnicki, Kurt Brown and Ian McLeay recently once again took part in The Bout – a monumental independent band contest in Toronto consisting of 115 other acts. This year – the Down River Band won the whole thing!
The DRB took home a cheque for $12,000, $5K in promotions and media and studio time with Trouble Town Records in Toronto.
With roots “down river” in Corunna, Mooretown, Courtright and Port Lambton, the locla boys are currently paddling hard!
