Wallaceburg’s Andrea Badder is a star on the rise.
“Drea” has been garnering quite the attention online with her amazing covers on her YouTube channel and TikTok. With vocals that give you goose bumps, her natural and raw talent is undeniable.
The home grown pianist has kept her musical aspirations to herself for much of her life. In fact, her own family hadn’t even heard her sing until she was more than 20 years old.
“It has always been a passion and talent of mine but I was always afraid of bringing attention to myself,” says Badder.
A University of Guelph graduate, Andrea grew up playing piano and taking music lessons, but never concentrated on vocals.
Drea’s time in university allowed her to “come out of her shell” while surrounding herself with others who shared that same passion for music. Badder began to play and sing with them weekly, which led to open mic nights and eventually helped plant the seed for her YouTube and TikTok pages, which are now regularly enjoyed by many.
“I just suddenly had this newfound confidence to put myself out there and stopped caring about what other people would think, and now I am diving in full force with it all,” she says.
Badder hopes to release her first original single in 2021. Until then, she will continue to re-create covers that leave listeners shivering.
