#SPOTLIGHT – JACQUI VERELLEN

TUNE IN ALL THIS WEEK TO CHECK OUT CHATHAM’S JACQUI VERELLEN ON THE #SPOTLIGHT – HEARD DAILY AT 3:40 PM

Jacqui Verellen is a talented singer/songwriter from Chatham, Ontario.

Jacqui has just released a brand new single, “Mess This Up”, alongside Farewell Summer. The single is available now on iTunes, Spotify, GooglePlay and more. A full length album is expected in spring 2019.

Joey Labute of Farewell Summer is from Blenheim. Graduating from UCC, he currently studies classical guitar at U of T. He most recently finished a national tour in Canada with over 75 shows. His tour was in partnership with the “Live Different Tour,” movement, which is an initiative that brings meals to hungry children.

Jacqui is back with a new sound and a new story to tell. Revitalized and awake, Jacqui’s self-written body of work, “Honest,” is expected this February 2019 and it will take her listeners on a journey through love, loss, joy, pain and finally, spiritual awakening. Known for her gentle vocals and her soul-stirring lyrics, Jacqui’s newest release will leave your heart warmed and your mind at ease. Influenced by storytellers such as Joni Mitchell, Colouring, Ingrid Michaelson, Priscilla Ahn, Lauren Daigle, Sleeping at Last and Taylor Swift – Jacqui’s sound is a blend of warm instrumentals, honest lyricism and cool, electronic vibes.

After winning the National CMTC competition, Jacqueline first went on to record an original, “Home is Home,” in Nashville with Grammy nominated producer and writer, Jeff Pardo. It received an overwhelming response, being played on Canadian stations and placing top 15 in the International Songwriting Competition. After taking over a year off to write, heal and record, fans can expect her next work to be her best yet. Jacqui’s new works discuss everything from mental struggle, time spent with the love of her life, growth, joy and finding new perspective. She hopes that her new music will be a breath of fresh air for her fans, with room to dance, sing, and cry happy tears, all in one experience. Simply put, Jacqui is awake.

Recently playing “Flavours of our World,” “CK Summerfest,” “Western Fair Festival,” and the “Mod Club in Toronto,” you can find Jacqui next playing the “Mod Club,” on December 7th, during which, her long-anticipated collaboration, “Mess This Up,” will be premiered. Jacqueline can also be found touring again this coming spring, 2019. You can listen to Jacqui’s debut single release, a collaboration with Farewell Summer, this November 30th, and her full EP, “Honest,” as of February 2019.

Graduating from UCC in Chatham, Jacqui attended Western University where she finished with an Honours in Opera Performance. She completed her post-grad in Music Business at Humber and now works in the music industry at Re:Sound in Toronto, representing musicians, royalties and rights holders.

Verellen’s last release “Home is Home,” was top 15 in the International Songwriting competition.
